Jackson State University’s Women’s Business Center is now officially open for business. The university held the official grand opening for the center earlier this month in the College of Business rotunda. The WBC provides business services to those seeking federal contract dollars, as women-owned small businesses (WOSB) and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSB). It is a project of the Small Business Administration. Natalie Cofield, assistant administrator for the US (SBA), says the fastest growing entrepreneurial demographic in this country is women and she’s proud the SBA has opened 140 centers across the country to help women walk out of the labor force and through the door of entrepreneurship. She says that's due in part, to strong support from the Biden-Harris Administration. JSU Provost, Alsia Mosley, Ph.D says the center represents an investment in the community. She says there is no better time than now for women to pursue entrepreneurship. The WBC at JSU is located on the 3rd Floor/Suite 332 in the College of Business.
