The Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine has been linked to an extremely rare neurological disorder, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Of the more than 12 million vaccine doses administered in the U.S., there have been around 100 reports of people developing Guillain-Barré syndrome.

It's a good day to be a giant panda. Chinese conservation officials have announced that they no longer consider giant pandas in China an endangered species.

Police in Long Beach, Calif., have opened a hate crime investigation after discovering that a local statute of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had been vandalized with racist graffiti.

The Long Beach Police Department rushed to Martin Luther King Jr. Park at around 3 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of "hate/bias-motivated vandalism," police spokesperson Brandon Fahey told NPR.

As Hurricane Elsa heads toward Florida, officials at the site of the Surfside condo collapse are keeping a close watch on the storm.

Officials haven't said whether they are expecting any delays to the search efforts, where 126 people remain unaccounted for. But Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis told reporters Friday that they are "actively monitoring" the situation and "paying special attention" to any possible impact in Surfside and the Miami-Dade County area.
