Damage Assessments reveal Hurricane Ida impacted dozens of homes and roads in Mississippi

Officials now have a clearer picture of Ida’s destruction in Mississippi. Initial assessments reveal damage to dozens of homes and roads.  However, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Director, Stephen McCraney, says the numbers at this point, are preliminary.  He says the numbers may increase as damage assessments continue.  McCraney says the state is working closely with the county emergency management offices and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in the state’s recovery efforts.
