Deshun Nance, a Mississippi native, is the Music Manager for WJSU and is the voice of Jazzmatic Mornings. He is a graduate of Jackson State University, receiving a degree in Music with an emphasis in technology. He began as a student intern for the station and as his interest in radio grew, he volunteered after graduating, eventually becoming a member of the staff serving as on-air host and production assistant. As the newly appointed music manager for the station, DeShun is tasked with making sure the music heard on WJSU is perfectly attuned to its motto, "Cool & Current." DeShun's musical roots date back about four generations. So it comes as no surprise that he has been playing saxophone since 2007 and is also an instrumental music producer. DeShun has always shared a passion for many forms of music. He looks forward to exploring what new avenues lie ahead on his path to a career in music. You can catch Jazzmatic Mornings with Deshun weekdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
