City officials say there is progress in the effort to restore normal water service to Jackson residents. A spokesperson for the third-party administrator, for Jackson’s water system, says most Jacksonians now have some water.  He says extra crews help workers make significant progress Tuesday and the goal now is to restore full pressure to the entire system by Thursday. Some residents in South Jackson got water for the first time since Christmas Eve Wednesday. Jackson is still under a boil water notice.
